thankful TO the Giver

Before we talk about things we are thankful for, I think it's important to note who we are thankful to.
Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!
Serve the LORD with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the LORD, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!

For the LORD is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 100
This summer I started reading One Thousand Gifts.  Slowly but surely I am making my way through Ann Voskamp's rich words.  She has encouraged me to look at all things as gifts from God.  And to be thankful for that gift.

So I'll start today off with Scriptures that remind me Who is the Giver and the One Who deserves all my thanks.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
James 1:17
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
 Jesus, thank you for your innumerable gifts in my life and help me to be quick to give you thanks in all things.
