Second Thoughts

My favorite bird is a Cedar Waxwing. I know what you are thinking... who has a favorite bird? I do. You see, my sweet husband is a birder, and he is teaching me the art of bird watching. It is actually pretty fun! Last spring we saw Painted Buntings in Augusta, which are the most beautiful, and also one of the most rare birds. We will probably blog more about our feathered friends another day.

I love Cedar Waxwings because:

1. They are the only birds that I can make their call... I can't whistle like Springer, but CW's makes this high-pitched squeal that I imitate perfectly.

2. They have a teeny tiny bit of yellow on their tail and a teeny tiny bit of red on the tip of each wing. How creative and intricate is our God!

3. They feed berries to each other! How cute is that!

However, the berry-eating is precisely what is causing me to have second thoughts about my favorite bird. You see, we have berries in some trees outside our home. And the CW's get the berries and then sit in a tree that is right over our cars, and proceed to POOP, POOP, POOP! And my car is covered! I took my car to get it washed on Friday, and today it is digusting!!! Maybe I should have chosen a different favorite.

So anyway, that is what I am thinking about this afternoon. This blogging thing is pretty fun.

Hilarious! Seriously-I can't wait for aaron to read this one. The fact that you can imitate their call perfectly makes me laugh and of course the Poop makes me laugh too. So sad we aren't going to see you this weekend. Love you!
